Fulidhoo Island, Maldives.

We sailed further south and anchored at the Fulidhoo Island, which is a tiny small one and where about 400 people live. It is a sleepy place, as is many of these islands and for some reason, I noted less smiles and people saying hello, as we have seen in most of the other islands we have visited.  It is not always easy to navigate through these reef filled atolls and we need to have someone up front to be able to see the Bommies; not an easy task and several boats here have hit reefs.

In Male Atoll.

Moving slowly down the Atoll chain and now in Coca Cola town north of Male. Plenty of resorts and more being build. Passed several where there were just a reef on the charts and now they are building islands and resorts.

We resided to bypass Male town as it seems to have nothing to offer us and the authorities are a pain to deal with.

The youngsters are having fun with their toys at sun downer time.

Now In Kuredu Island Resort.

Good sailing condition today with 10-14 kn from west and we had a nice speed since 07:00 and till we dropped anchor at 17:00. Now a beer or two. Plenty of resorts on almost all the islands we passed. Were visited by Pilot Whales and Dolphins.

Continuing South.

Have a look at this island and anchorage, which we have all for ourselves. Went to the beach as it looked wood from New Dawn, but the beach was full of plastic and rubbish, as well as Mosquitoes, so after I flew the drone, we went back on board for a sun-downers.

Sailing South Through The Maldives.

Yesterday we left Uligan and started to sail south through the Maldives Atolls. There are reefs everywhere and one has to zig-zag to avoid the reefs and coral mommies. There are a huge amount of expensive resorts and this one cost USD 1.850 plus plus per person per night. We wanted to visit it and were told we could if we paid USD 75 to drop anchor and USD 122 per person to have a walk along the resort. So we passed this oprotunity and took a few photos (free).

A nasty reef to be avoided.

This town/island counts 8.000 habitats and has several shops, but not much to write home about. The people are all very friendly and says hello, like if we have known them for ages.
